Current status:

I am currently running Server 2012 on a dell 760 big tower with random assortment of drives.

 

Idea 1 : openmediavault

PCI Card + 2x2tb wd red

should i look into OMV or use the storage pools in server 2012?

 

Not necessarily looking into freenas as adding 8gb to system is not cheap ( currently have 4gb). and a new build is currently out of scope atm.

 

I am trying to get full redundancy on onlly about 500gb or so, but the rest is ok, but not perfered, if lost.

 

Trying to keep this all relatvely under $200.

 

Appreciate the help adhead of time.
