Motherboard broken?

if its from AMD thats normal

It's normal, that's how AMD sockets work. Assuming you're using an AMD CPU in that motherboard.

Yes, that's completely normal. For CPUs that install this way, only AMD uses this. What holds the CPU in is the socket itself. When you pull the lever up, the socket moves slightly. When you install the CPU and push the lever down, the socket will move back to its original position - the pins are flexing and the CPU is being held in place.

 

It's not a perfect system by any means as I have pulled the CPU out of its socket trying to remove a CPU cooler, but that is how it's implemented and it's totally normal.
