New gaming pc gpu

Hi, I am looking into building a new pc and I was wondering what gpu to get.

I am debating between a sapphire nitro r9 390 trix oc w/ backplate or a gtx 970 gigabyte or msi.

I have heard that the r9 gets very hot and loud along with the tdp but a video I watched showed that the r9 was only a hair louder and hotter that the gtx so is it just a fanboy thing saying the r9 is very hot and loud or is it worth it to get a gtx for the lower heat and noise?

390 because u can plop a 390 in ur system for around $250 right now

The nitro 390 is as quiet and pretty much as cool running as any 970 out there. The nitro is an excellent cooler.

 

The 390 performs all around better, costs the same, and has more than double the usable vram, meaning you'll never see a bottleneck due to that for as long as you use that card. The 970, you are starting to see games hit 3gbs of vram now, in a few more years it's easy to assume hard hitting AAA games will hit 4gbs, and that 3.5 limitation will be disastrous.
