Hi guys, I think I have a problem with the Antlion modmic 4.0.

In Linus video reviewing the new modmic 4.0 I got really excited because it sounded so clean, so I decided to buy one myself.

It turned out the was not as good as I expected, but I know Linus does real good reviews so I figured he must have something diferent. Can it be the motherboard, can it be a sound card, can it be the levels in the settings?

What can I do to get a clear sound as Linus did get? And what are the best levels for modmic 4.0 in the settings, or does that change with the motherboard?

Please help, and thank you all :)

What's wrong with it?

Static? Distortion? Should sound clear unless you have background noise like perhaps loud case fans at head level.

Make sure Mic Boost is set to 0.

I mean, it has some static but most of it is removed with the feature to remove background noise, but when I talk is when distortion happens, otherwise is mostly quiet. And I don't have loud fans at the level of my mic

For both clips my settings were :

 tYldiog.png?1

1st clip : https://soundcloud.com/rafa-pereira-riztf-d/modmic-40-clip1

settings :

BYX0WN1.png?1

2nd clip : https://soundcloud.com/rafa-pereira-riztf-d/modmic-40-clip2

settings :

HKNTe7A.png?1

And as you can see the second clip has much better audio quality but also has much more static, and in linus clip (https://soundcloud.com/ltt-mic-test/modmic-4) the sounds is so clear and has no static :c

It's because of interference coming from inside your computer when you use the 3.5mm jack. I used the mod mic and had the same issue. Buying a cheap USB to 3.5mm adapter fixes everything.

This is what I used to fix the issue: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Channel-External-Sound-Audio-Adapter/dp/B0027EMHM6/ref=pd_sim_147_12?ie=UTF8&dpID=31bFE-9JKxL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0TWA0PQXYHYQABP2YREW
