Hi, this is my first post. I'll do a quick introduction here and quickly get into the post. My name is Jacob. I turn 17 on the 30th of November and I'm hoping to build a new PC for my birthday. I've built for other people before, but never for myself. I'm looking to do a green theme.

Here's my current parts list:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/V9NqjX

I am aware that some of the parts are listed in a screwy way. (like my RAM)

This is due to the way I'm purchasing my parts. I'm using mostly gift money for purchases, so they're broken into more singular items.

My first plan is to remove all of the Razer logos from the case. I've already received a replacement front panel and the inside cable management bracket to replace the included ones.

Next, I hope to use the Corsair SP140s in the front of the case with the Kraken x61 cooler to achieve a green glow on the inside of the case. My hope is that by covering the LED fans with the radiator, I can give a subtle glow instead of a blinding green inferno through the window of my case.

My graphics card choice is a bit up in the air. I'd like to SLI two GTX 970s, but I'm not sure which ones. The ones on my parts list were just released and I'm leaning toward them due to the RGB functionality and extreme overclocking ability; (Not to mention, it would be nice to have a graphics card that's the same brand as my motherboard.) However, I'm not sure if my power supply can handle them. PCPartPicker hasn't the specs for these particular graphics cards yet, so there's no compatibility check.

I'd like some input and perhaps some guidance. Tell me what you guys think!

I don't know much about the P2 power supply, but I know for a fact that the EVGA G2 is one of the best PSUs out there, and there is a 750W version of it.

Edit: I would also get an R9 390 as opposed to a 970. You could get this for almost 100 bucks less, and with better performance: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202164

My understanding is that AMD graphics cards tend to be a lot more power hungry. They tend to use a higher wattage. Is that necessarily true?

Also, I'd like something a little more green. Hence, NVIDIA.

750W is by far enough to drive an R9 390. Yes it uses slightly more power, but people that preach AMD cards are bad because they're power hungry space heaters are idiots, really. The card I linked you to is more powerful and cheaper.

And what do you mean more green? The link in your parts list to the 970 has no green in it... it's a black Gigabyte cooler. It's looks nearly the same as the 390 I linked you to. If you're talking about green software then to be honest that's completely asinine considering what I've already stated, as well as the fact that you aren't going to be in your GPU software about 99% of the time you use your computer.
