What is the GTX 960 Radeon Equivalent?

t33to

Now that Crimson is out, I'm very tempted to try a Radeon GPU and need to decide pretty quick. I was aiming for the GTX 960 as it's roughly in my price range and I keep hearing that Radeons are actually better performance for dollar and the only thing holding me back was my terrible history with Catalyst.

Suggestions?

Ok, so 380 is better for the price, 280 is similar in performance? It's the performance I'm after.

The 380 and 960 are nearly neck to neck but most of the time the 380 outperforms the 960. The 280 falls a little behind but can hold its on against the 960.

The 380x performs better than all of them.

And if you can strech your budget a little, getting a used r9 290 with a non-reference cooler for around 250ish, and it will perform better then all the cards I've mentioned.
