Artifacting GTX 680

So I was playing a game and the nvidia drivers crashed, but I didn't pay much attention to it considering It's happened a few times in the 3.5 year lifetime of the card. Little did I know 30 minutes after I stop playing the game my screen would artifact for 15 seconds then turn into a black screen. So I shut off my PC for 5 minutes just in case it was a cooling issue. I then turned it back on to see artifacting on the bios boot screen as well so I turned it off. Just when I'm planning to upgrade everything besides my gpu it screws up Was planning to wait for the next 980 like gpu. I hope I can somehow fix this...
