380/380X or 390, those are the best cards in the mid-range bracket but the 390 would be the best choice.

I quite sure those numbers aren't recent, they probably reused benchmark numbers for the 390's launch before the driver updates.

I'm pretty sure reviewers, especially when they specify the driver being used, retest all the cards that they use in their graphs. Just to be safe, I double checked with the original 970 review on Anandtech.

Current is first, old is second.

Seems that Anandtech uses actual stock 970 clock speeds for their results, so the typical 970 that you can buy is about 10% faster than that.

If you want cheaper check evga b stock they have like 970's for $250 and a 980 kingpin for $450
