Hi guys!

Another day another problem.

My friedn need a upgrade for his old pc.

His current spec are:

CPU: Intel E6600 2.4Ghz + tih box hladilnik
GPU:GAINWARD Geforce 8800GTX 768mb dead, so he is replacing with amd radeon 7970 (for 130€)
MEMORY: G.Skill DDR2 PC2-6400 CL5-5-5-15 1.8V-2.0V 2*1GB 2048Mb
CASE: Thermaltake Armor Junior VC3000 black case
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte 965p-s3
PSU: Enermax EG701AX-VE(W) (24P) ATX 12V ver. 2.0 600W
STORAGE: he won't change it.

I need your help to make this upgrade as good as possible.

PC will be used for:
-Gaming: (BF4, GTA V, RuneScape - With recording (don't judge))
-Really light Video Editing

Budget:
He said around 200€ (without GPU upgrade)

Other:
If you think that buying whole new pc is better than just upgrading this one, it's an option to concider. Also if you have any other suggestions for better GPU, please tell.
I was thinking mobo/cpu/ram upgrade for quad core (maybe i5, but 4460 (i had in mind) is too expensive)

Thanks for help!

I think it'd be a better idea to build a new machine rather than to upgrade that, yeah.

So do you think it's better to build a new machine. What configuration would you do for arround 800€ (use german PCPP). you don't need to include hard drives :) and maybe case can be reused also.

I'll take a look! Would MindFactory.de be a good bet for the main retailer to work with?

Sig under construction.

I prefer using computeruniverse.net, but Mindfactory is ok.

You're welcome. I would read through the things that it lists as potential incompatibilities. I think you should probably use the old case or get a different one that will look better and be more functional. I chose this one because it's one that I know and trust. I'd go with a Define R5 from Fractal Design if it fits in the budget.

Fractal Design R5 it's like 100+€ here. For my 2k build i wen't with S340 (define r5 wasn't in my buget unfortunatly). But we'll make something out of this defenetly.
