I personally like Windows7. I guess I'll upgrade a month before the free upgrade to Windows10.

Tho Win10 has DirectX12 so maybe you'll like to have it.

Windows 10. You don't have much of a choice tbh as win 7 and 8 will be completely discontinued next year september. There was an article on it not too long ago.

Thanks guys for the responses. So Windows it is. But I'm bit confused between Windows 7 or 10. I've been doing research about both & seems like Win 10 has a lot of BSOD, Bad Driver support & freezes during games. Those who are using Win 10 could share their comments on the same.

I intend to play BF4, Cod BOIII, COD AW similar games & the last thing I want is FPS drop, Freeze & BSOD after spending $4000 on a machine. My specs below. Sorry the delayed reply as I was building this machine first time took much time & a lot of trial and error.

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Enermax LIQTECH 240 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
EVGA Z97 Classified
32 GB G.Skill Trident X 16GB (4X8GB) 2400Mhz DDR3
EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti HYBRID GAMING
SanDisk Extreme PRO 240GB Solid State Drive
Kingston HyperX Savage 480GB
WD Black 2TB SATA 6 Gb/s, 7200 RPM, 64MB Cache
Seasonic SNOW SILENT 1050W ATX12V/EPS12V 80 PLUS Platinum
Razer DeathStalker Expert Gaming Keyboard
Razer DeathAdder Chroma Gaming Mouse
Kingston HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset
Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX Case Black
Acer Predator XB270HU 144Hz IPS WQHD G-Sync Monitor

Please note. I'm yet to get my keyboard, mouse & monitor. I've not installed any OS till now & would be using the 240 GB SDD for OS, 480 GB for games & 2 TB for storage.

Look forward hearing from you all.

Paul

Windows 7 has better compatibility with older games than Windows 10.

Windows 7 / 8 don't support DX12, but they will support Vulkan, which accomplishes the same thing as DX12, which is low-level communication between software drivers and hardware to achieve improved system performance in games and whatever else.

Windows 7 will continue to receive support updates until 2020, so is just past the half-way point in its support life.

If it's all about gaming, then I suggest Windows 7 for now, and make sure you activate your Windows 7 license with the free Windows 10 upgrade. Then you can move to Windows 10 at any time in the future, and don't have to worry about not using it right now.
