Hey guys,

Just wanted to some advice on upgrading my GPU to an EVGA GTX 970 FTW+. I currently have an EVGA GTX 660 FTW 3GB and I'm looking for something that is going to be a beast but cost affective as well. My main concern is if my current rig will be able to handle a card of that class with it's current setup, my specs are;

CPU - Intel i5 3570k @ 4.2 ish GHz

Mobo - Asus P8Z77-V Pro

RAM - Patriot Viper 3 @ 2133 Mhz

PSU - Seasonic G-Series 550W 80+ Gold

GPU - EVGA GTX 660 FTW 3GB Sig 2

Drives - 120GB Samsung 840 SSD and a Seagate 1TB HDD

Other components - 3 case fans off of the motherboard and 2 on a voltage switch (built into the case) and a Corsair H80i AIO liquid cooler

*EDIT*

Forgot to add the NZXT Hue lighting system to the spec list...

The main issue is my PSU, would I have to upgrade to something with a lot more juice to compensate?

Feel free to add card suggestions for something that would be a similar performer. Current price for the 970 I'm looking at is £291.99 (24/11/2015), a link for the card in question - http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-GeForce-Graphics-Express-Display/dp/B00TF7VLWU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1448387561&sr=8-2&keywords=gtx+970+ftw

Cheers

That would be totally fine for a 970!

I would recommend a Nitro 390 but you might want to upgrade your PSU if you went up to that

I believe a good 550w like that would handle it, as long as you don't overclock like a madman and run synthetic benchmarks all day or something (Definitely not speaking from experience) :P

Someone did it with an XFX 550w, and the Seasonic G-Series looks pretty solid

Awesome man, I'll be looking into it a bit more and to see what others think. Thank you for the contribution though  :)
