I seen a post yesterday talking about upgrading NZXT H440 cooling and wanted to do same as mine, but I have extra questions. So basically they said they were getting rid of all fans (to static) SP120 QE PWM or something to improve quietness and performance. So I was wondering is this the best solution for my case (driver bays removed) and with a H100i. As atm it's noisy and doesn't cool that good. I also like how he did PWM so he can control them all in bios.

Here is how my setup is now (arrows pointing the way fan blows air)

I belive the stock fans on H100i are SP120L (better than sp120 so might leave them be) but the stock case fans are like FN V2 120mm? What do you people think? Got any changers?

Please help and thx

Some Noctua NF-F12's on the radiator would take away a lot of noise.  Corsair AF fans would do well everywhere else.

Looked them up and they sure are ugly, unless you can somehow spray paint the rubber side without effecting performance that would be good. So I'm guessing these would be better than the stock one?

Industrial ones you meant right ^^^?

And I'm so confused, got people saying airflow for the rest and some static...

Yea.  Noctua's are ugly. But they are amazing fans.  You could pop off the rubber mounts, spray paint or plasti dip them black and put them back on to get an all black fan.

Airflow (AF) - Meant for use as standard case fans.

Static Presure (SP) - Meant for pushing/pulling air through tight spaces (eg. heatsinks, radiators).

So spraying the rubber bits red won't effort anything? And I heard that static is better for cases like H440 as limited space, but then I was thinking I never heard anyone doing that... I'll wait for more advice probably before rushing in. But the Noctua's sound great !

And should I reverse the front fans, or have I got them all the ideal way?

No, don't change the fans around.  Everything is the way it should be.

Nope.  Just take them off before spray painting.  I've seen SP fans in the H440 but they don't really make much of a difference.  Keep the front fans as intake mainly because of the dust filter there and that you want to maintain positive air pressure in the case.

Like you mean leave the same way, but change fans?

Yes, don't change the fan orientation....but feel free to swap out the fans. I prefer noctua and corsair fans. I lean more toward corsair when the fan can be seen. A good mix of performance, quietness, and looks for a decent price.

Do you think 1 corsair airflow SP120 QE for the back, 2 Noctua NF-F12's for the rad, and 3 corsair SP120 QE for front.... or do you know a better setup?

I'm using the same exact case you are right now and I just replaced the front fans with Noctua NF-F12 Linus Edition. It's fairly nice and helped cut down a slight bit of sound. And for the back I stuck with an airflow fan. It's fairly louder, but with 3 fans on the front creates so much positive pressure I think being able to push a lot of it out would be nice.

I think maybe having 5 static pressure fans might not work for me...

I think that was my post. Well I did get recommended all static fans, I'm not 100% sure but. Might go the same route as you. (2 new noctua static rad fans, 3 new airflow noctua fans at front and maybe even a noctua airflow at back) or even change it up with corsair's.

Let me know how you go as I really want to get the best out of it like you.

Might add this later...
