I ordered one on Amazon a few days ago when they were $239, although they were on back order. Now my build is almost complete so I'm getting more and more impatient for this CPU (Haven't had my own gaming rig for a few months now.)

Seems like my last resort option is to drive 3 hours away to find a microcenter and hope they can hold a 6600K for me and that they don't accidentally sell it to someone else.

Anyone having any better luck? Or any idea how long Amazon might take to get new stock?

No I supposedly order on for 250$ but they 300$. I don't care much but my CPU is not going to be here until December 2 but I did not play for fast  shipping. Amazon is sometimes really bad but normally this only happens when the subcontract it out.

Good luck, Have fun, Build PC, and have a Wii and PS2 as your only consoles.

The price of the chips is sky rocketting due to demand, and the lack of supply. Just wait.

Buy from Siliconlottery.

Hmm... I can get one from silicon lottery for $25 more than amazon, with a guaranteed 4.7GHz. That's basically a no-brainer, right?

Yeah. Shipping outside of US might cost quite a bit though. Also notice the voltage they used and the test they ran. All in all though, I think it's a great deal (+ you can get a delid+reseal service for $50).

I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this one. And I'm already pushing my budget so I don't think I'll get the delid but thanks for the info.

Also, they cite the voltage at "1.408V CPU VCORE (Or less)"

I'm kind of new to overclocking so I'm not exactly sure how good that is. From the research I've done, it seems to be a little high, but along the lines of what most other people are getting here.

I run a large thread for Skylake on OCN, so I have looked at many overclocks. The guy who runs SiliconLottery has also looked at many chips and he agrees with my results. The average chip is doing 4.65ghz @ 1.38v.

I actually got my chip early on before the prices where changed... 4.8 chip for $300 :)

They do 2 day shipping, so that stuff arrives fast. And at least for me, no taxes.
