Would this be possible?

Hi!

I have recently purchased an SSD and would like to install windows 10 onto it (I currently have win10 on my HDD). I know that I can unplug the HDD and install the OS onto the SSD, but how could I make it so that the windows installation would be on something like H:\ so that my programs still work on my HDD.

Basically, is it possible for me to install a new windows OS without having to reinstall any programs?

I dont think there is unless the SSD is the exact same size of the HDD. i would recommend a fresh install anyway, get rid of all the gunk.

I would say no. But you can try to format SSD in advance and set letter for it. Still, only some software will continue working. They won't be showing on your start menu listing or in add/remove programs list since Windows doesn't know they exist.
