So my mom has an issue with mozilla thunderbird. She cant fix it herself and i havent used it at all.

When i try to open it i get an error.

"Could not find the Mozilla runtime."

I've googled it and they just say reinstall and something. But dosn't that delete all her emails? How can i fix it without deleting her emails?

Thanks!

Thunderbird is just a downloaded client to view email. Reinstall it, then set it to view her email.

No non of her old mails will be deleted or the ones she saved?

Correct, Thunderbird is just a way to view your email without needing to open a browser. It syncs your email with the Thunderbird client and vice-versa.

Well technically, her emails won't be deleted.
They will still be on gmail/hotmail/whatever email service she uses. (unless she specifically configured her email's option, so they it doesn't keep forwarded emails, which case, you could do what follows)

There's also the Thunderbird profile, which won't be deleted if you reinstall, but might go "unused". As such, you could "recover" everything easily
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird

Should be in this folder

C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\ (replace x with whatever the profile name is)

It's mostly a matter of renaming the old profile to be the same as the new profile.

But the most likely scenario is that if you just reinstall, without uninstalling it first, that it will re-use the old profile and nothing will need to be done about it.
