Problem managing partitions in windows disk management

Hi guys, I'm having an incenvenient problem atm. When trying to shrink partition in Windows disk management, I get an error, don't really know what it means, but I suppose it means that I should defragment the drive first. The problem is that it's an 120GB SSD, so you don't just defragment it. Before you tell me to use gparted I want you to know that I quite trusted this built-in disk management tool so far. Is using gparted or any other 3rd party tool for this kind of shit safe? Could I f**k up my system? Will my Windows installation still work?

Thank you.
