Alternate PSU?

Okay, so right now i've got myself a half working corsair HX650, My computer has to be running power saving mode in order to function so I came up with an Idea on powering the GPU but I would like to know whether or not I should try it. Here's the plan,

12V gamecube power supply, (actually gonna have to use something else, only 48 watts on the gamecube psu)

plus a pcie to molex,

plus a soldering iron,

following this pinout,

equals a happy 5770 :D

 

what do you guys think? yes? or "You're crazy what do you think you're doing?!?!"
