so after I finished the quest "freedom Trail" I got outside the church and boom fps went to 6 fps average pretty sure the gtx 970 should be more than enough for this game anyone have a similar problem ? I've restarted my pc installed the new drivers from nvidia and it's still sitting around 6 fps! I play at 1600x900 currently (1080p monitor got sold)

Are you running borderless?

I had a similar issue, The game was fully capable of running 60+ FPS but it refused to while presetinterval was on.

 

 

You can try turning Presetinterval off if it isn't already.  Its located in X:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini

 

 

Turn presetinterval from 1 to 0 and set the file to read only

6 fps? It seems like you run your game with integrated video card....Actually it's not, because I run it in ultra setting with HD4600 and I can get 10 fps...6 fps are not possible unless you plug the wrong cable...

*FIXED* Needed to Delete "SpaceDesk" it was causing issues
