Chrome via HTTPS won't work on my brother's new comp

Never mind. Malwarebytes couldn't find the threat, but we got Microsoft Security Essentials and it found some nasty stuff, cleaned/quarantined, re-scanned after restart, came out clean, and Chrome works now.

Hey there, LTT crew.

I'm trying to fix an odd issue on my brother's new gaming desktop. He just set it up, it only has his Steam/Origin games and stuff, basically zero actual applications. (Windows 7 Professional, system builder OEM edition, x64)

The issue: when he goes to any website in Chrome that is HTTPS, it says the "security certificate has been revoked". IE works fine.

I checked the following:

- no malware found in Malwarebytes (as I said, brand new machine, basically a fresh OS other than games)

- cleared the cache in Chrome

- checked Chrome settings, nothing seems wrong

- accessing Chrome HTTPS pages work fine on any other comp here, like mine
