Pc randomly turns off the display

I recently was watching youtube while playing dirt and then my moniter turned off randomly but there was still sound and the pc itself was still on. The graphics card is not the problem, it was just recently bought and i tested it on a different motherboard (an old dell one) for 24 hours and nothing happened. My motherboard is an old Asus but i don't know the exact name. My cpu is a x3 amd phenom. Any help?

Hmm... well all the advise I can give you is to return the monitor saying that it randomly turns off. :(

Thanks. But I cannot return the moniter because it is about 6 years old.
