Okay, I guess the title says it all -

 

I feel an urge to put a smiley on just about every post, either to keep from offending someone, let them know I'm not taking myself too seriously, or just because I like them...

 

They seem superfluous somehow, and yet I find myself continually using them.

 

When people use too many smileys, it annoys me, yet... I'm one of those people.
