Hey everyone,

I'm looking to build a 1440p gaming computer. One monitor, eventually gaming peripherals and such. Here are the parts.

i5 6600k

cryorig h5 ultimate

msi z170a gaming m3

kingston hyperx ddr4 16gb

evga g2 750w

nzxt source s340 black/red

msi r9 390 8g

WD Black 2tb

I have a 120g intel ssd already with windows 10.

peripherals:

corsair k70 brown (no rgb)

corsair m45 mouse

qck mouse mat

monitor is yet to come

Basically the objective of this build is to futureproof be able to keep up with games for 3-5 years. At the moment. The total cost is something like $1800 AUD or $1300 usd

I feel like skylake is the way to go instead of the 4690k (5 bucks cheaper cuz no heatsink included haha)

I'd like to keep the case and r9 390.

Any tips to drop the price a bit (I'm in Australia) without compromising too much on performance?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Honestly I'd probably just leave it as is, looks like a solid build.

Haha, your title made me laugh. I'd hope at 5x the price it'd be a console killer

A near 2k build.... of course it's a console destroyer. Typically that phrase is used for computers that are around console price but better.

Better (Than the one in the PCPartpicker) and slightly cheaper PSU.

Semi-Modular:

Oh yeah I couldn't find the one I wanted in pcpp but thanks man.

most all pcs beat consoles, this nukes them, leaving the loungeroom in quite a mess.
