Hey Guys ,

Basically i'm looking to upgrade my current PC and i need your help. My budget is a hard thing to pin down but i'd say that what i'm after on the whole is the most cost efficient way ( without compromising too much ) on upgrading my computer to better cope with more graphically intensive games.

1. Budget & Location

I'm from the UK. As i mentioned above i don't really have a budget.

2. Aim

The computer is being used to play various computer games .

3. Monitors

I am planning on running 2-3 monitors ( Only using 1 for gaming ).

4. Peripherals

I have all my peripherals ,I'm running on windows 7.

5. Why are you upgrading?

To get better performance from existing parts of my rig / just general upgrades.

Current System.

Cpu: Intel Core i7-2700k 3.50GHz (Sandybridge) Processor

Cpu Cooler: H2Flo extreme Liquid dual fan cpu cooper

               Hitachi Deskstar 7K100.D 1TB 32MB Hard drive

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

I think everything is fine but the gpu. Get a 980 if you can afford it or a 970 if you can't .

no, no, no, no.

get a GTX 980ti if you can afford it, if not get the R9 390x or R9 390

honestly, just upgrade your GPU's.  You're not going to notice much of a performance gain on a newer i7, and the rest of your components seem to be fairly good for today's standards.

Yeah seems Like the way to go if all i really need is to upgrade the GPU's

Thanks alot

no problem, and if you want to shave off 100 pounds, there is a version without the liquid cooler.

also, if you stick a nice liquid cooler on that CPU, you can OC that thing to huge numbers (like <4.5 GHz)

Thanks again mate , appreciate the help.

Unfortunately the whole Overclocking thing is a bit over my head , i get the basics but I've never overclocked my system myself.

Linus has some great videos on it, and that CPU OCs like a boss (big DIE = better heat)
