Oh!

My bad

I had no idea they were different!

im not to great with other languages

Yeah, there's a few differences like that. Some in spelling, some in pronunciation and some in the meaning of words (chips vs fries, garden vs yard, pavement vs sidewalk and so on)

Well, fuck. I'm British and even I thought it was wrong. RIP.

It doesn't really matter. Unless you're taking an English test, I doubt someone's going to call you out on it.

If in doubt, the American spelling is usually the one missing letters. (Favourite vs favorite, colour vs color, flavour vs flavor). And if you're confused between a 'z' or an 's', then the 'z' is most likely American and the 's' is likely British English. (except in laser vs lazer. Laser is an acronym, so lazer is just plain wrong.)

what are they looking at?

*community index*

i think they are offline...

Pretty sure that just means they're on the homepage, not browsing a particular forum or thread. Possibly AFK.

I thought that you were not allowed to type "inb4 thread lock"?

Why are you people so mean?

Because being mean is fun *evil laugh* :P

Honestly I'm really glad you actually read the CoC though :) Most people don't at all

Both spellings are correct.

Labeling is the American English spelling and Labelling is British English.

Same with things like color and colour.

EDIT:

As LTT is Canadian, they would technically use Canadian English, which incorporates both British and American English, but seems to take more from British English, seeing as it is a commonwealth. I've noticed a lot of Canadians will use the British pronunciation for words like tomato and aluminium. (Queen Elizabeth is still the reigning monarch of Canada).

Honestly, most people in Canada don't care about the spelling. If you spell "colour" as "color", people won't even bat an eye. Same with pronouncing "zeee" vs "zed".

Also, I've never heard a Canadian say aluminium :P aluminum reigns supreme in Ontario.

It's a bit more of an issue here in the UK. If you pronounce zed as zee, you'll get people correcting you.

I swear Linus has said aluminium in videos before.

The spelling really doesn't matter though, people still know what you mean. If I type color, my PC will say it's incorrect though, as I'm set to British English.
