Help picking a CPU

So It's Christmas soon and I'm planning to get a new cpu, for now I'm thinking about an i5 4690K but I'm not sure if that would be the best deal for me, so I wanted to ask with a GTX 760 4GB GPU, what would the best cpu be ? Also, my socket is 1155.

Thanks very much, I really appreciate it :)

A i5-4690k does not fit into a 1155 socket. All 4th gen Intel Cores use socket 1150.

A good option for your socket would be the i5-3570k, which is one generation older, but still performs very well.

Make sure you have a Z77 chipset to make use of the unlocked CPU.

Honestly you could get a 3570k or 3770k and be good to go.

Still good upgrade options on that socket.

Assuming you were thinking of jumping ship.

Thanks for the replies guys,

I have an i5 2310 right now, performs well but I'm looking to upgrade, would an i5 3770k perform over 60 fps on average in games like Battlefield 4 and GTA IV ?

Thanks again :).

Usually the GPU has the largest impact on framerate.

an i5 3770k is 240 pounds, which is more than 300 euros, I can't go up that high  Or am I looking at the wrong CPU ?
