This issue has been going on for about a year.  My pc has a z87 motherboard, an I5 4690k and a gtx 660. the graphics card came from my previous pc that i built because i didnt really feel the need to buy a new one at that time and wanted to stick with it. my pc runs fine...until i play games. the problem i have is that on this new pc that ive been using for a year now, the graphics card only works on one particular driver which is actually a year old(http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverresults.aspx/79891/en-us) and if i update my graphics card drivers to the latest one, my pc freezes, BSODs, or i just get particles all over my monitor. i just bought battlefront and i cant play the game using the driver that doesnt mess up my pc. ive contacted Nvidia and they obviously didn't help me at all.

I have tried uninstalling my drivers, deleting the nvidia folder, restarting my pc and updating the drivers and it still messes up. this only happens in games, everything else seems fine!

any help would be appreciated.

Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to uninstall your current driver (you need to go into safe mode to do this). After you done that go back into normal mode and install the latest drivers that are available for you GPU on the manufacturers webiste.

You might want to try to underclock the card from the FTW setting and hope that might keep it stable for a while longer, though I fear that's only delaying the inevitable

and i have tried that too using precision x. could it possibly be a hardware issue?

i've heard it could be a power supply issue, GPU, Motherboard or even ram. the ram im using now came from my other pc and i havent had any issues. everything im using is less than 2 years old. only thing that went out was my old AIO liquid cooler which i replaced with a cooler master hyper 212 evo
