So in January I'm planning on switching from my mid tower pc to a mini itx (ncase m1) because I want a smaller pc. My question is would it be worth it to upgrade to a skylake i5 cpu/mobo/DDR4 or to keep my 4670k and buy a z87 or z97 mini itx Mobo and be able to reuse my cpu/ram.

My current pc specs

Cpu:4670k

Mobo:Asus z87 atx(forget the model)

PSU:Seasonic 650w

RAM:16gb Kingston hyper fury x

GPU:gtx 770

SSD:500gb 850 evo

So... What say you LTT community?

You won't see a huge performance jump from your 4670K to a skylake CPU, so just grab a Z87/Z97 mini-ITX motherboard, maybe with more features like built in wifi or more USB ports. If you want more performance grab a AIO liquid cooler and start OCing. You will also REALLY want an SFX PSU, so that you can stick a longer GPU in there.

The only other thing I'd upgrade is a reference 980 or something like that

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!
