If you want any chance of him answering I would suggest writing something that will catch his attention in the subject. Nothing "clickbaity" but if you have something important to tell/ask/discuss with him, he probably gets hundreds of messages on here a day and unless you get his attention in the subject I doubt he would respond.

Your best bet of trying to reach Linus for something important is probably twitter anyways, he will likely see it if you tweet him.
