Hello there,

First of all, need I remind you I am totally new in building a desktop pc from scratch. Been mixing and matching pc parts all these times and I finally thought its time for me to get them for real. Here is what I plan on buying:

GPU: Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 Strix Direct CU II

CPU: Intel i5 4460 Quad Core

MOBO: ASRock B85M PRO3 Motherboard 4th Generation Core

RAM: HyperX FURY Series 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3

HDD: Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX 1TB

PSU: Corsair VS550 ATX/EPS Vs Series 550 W 80 Plus

Casing: Thermaltake Versa H13 M-ATX

There you go..These are the parts which I think suffice my budget and performance that I require (I guess). The total cost for these items is around 516£. I have severals questions:

1. Am I choosing the right choice of items?

2. Is the build good enough to play latest games such as CoD3, Fallout 4, etc.?

3. Is it necessary to get a SSD?

Thank you for your time :)

What is your budget? I could make you a better build.

My budget is around 500£

You should get a R9 380 instead of a GTX 960.

I see...So its better in terms of performance? Im seeing it to be cheaper than my selection though

get a 280x/380/285 and a better psu. The Cx/Vs are not designed for gaming/overclocking

those gpu are better than my selection? Oh, Im not planning on overclocking my pc though....

If you don't have an extra HDD, you can always buy one instead of a SSD.

yes the 960 is not worth the money. Still you are going to play games, so the psu doesnt fit in your build, get a XFX TS for the price and better quality

The site has changed....

This is awesome! Tq for your suggestion.. However, Is it okay for me to substitute the mobo to what GalacticRuler suggested? Because the mobo's review on amazon is not quite convincing.. Or perhaps you personally using the mobo and would like to counter the review?

Either or. It doesn't actually matter.

The superflower is MUCH better... The novatech is a piece of shit. There are other cheaper psu's you could consider, but based on the prices when I looked them up earlier for you I would highly recommend the SuperFlower

I see...Thanks! Will stick to that PSU then..Another question, is it better to use usb wifi & bluetooth adapter or PCI Express? Or do you suggest to use different mobo with built in wifi and bluetooth?

ps; what do you think of this case? http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cases/nov-stelth.html

Either or, both work fine. The only thing with USB versions is you will need to download the drivers until then they won't function very well. They do however have the benefit of allowing you to use it for another computer if the need arises with ease.

I would recommend you choose from these two:

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/tp-link-wireless-network-card-archert4u

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-wireless-network-card-gcwb867di

The case looks fine to me. Nothing wrong with it and a good way to cut costs.

Hello guys!

So I've build the pc with the parts suggested. Everything is going well except that my mouse seems to be going abit crazy some of the times. What happens is the mouse sometimes suddenly wont move, but I can still click the buttons (left & right click). I had to wait for a lil while to make it work again. Tried with 2 different mouse and its still the same. One thing I realize is that it never happens in safe mode. Any suggestion and ideas?

Front panel or mobo usb connection?
