Go to solution Solved by tbroadwater2010,

thanks a huge amount dude! I've had PC's in the past but a family friend has always built it. Now I will finally do it myself and hopefully all goes well! thanks again man!

If you have issues, PM me or post to the forum. Lots of very smart people here willing to help you out!

Dont forget to mark solved if your issues has been resolved!

Hey guys, so I plan on getting this power supply: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/corsair-rm-series-rm-850-80-gold-850w-modular-power-supply-cp-9020056-uk-ca-155-cs.html

and this graphics card: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/zotac-geforce-gtx-980ti-amp-extreme-edition-6144mb-gddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-zt-90505-10p-gx-091-zt.html

Basically I need to ask (first time building a PC) .. the graphics card needs 2x8pin to power it... Ofc they plug into the side of the GPU, but where abouts do they plug into the PSU? This is such a noob question but I can find it clear anywhere.

Purely because I will have a few things connected to the PSU already, and i want to make sure that i have enough to power the GTX 980ti.

thanks in advance for any help! Pictures would be amazing for help!

I could be wrong but in the graphic of the PSU i can see 2X 6+2 power cables. You would use this to connect to the power supply anywhere it fits.

Thank you two very much! Just making sure as the only part about building a PC im worried about is the cables. If I posted my build, would you two be kind enough to let me know if i have everything and will not need any extra adapters or anything?

Again, thanks for the picture and information there!:)

I would go with the newer RMx as it is a better unit.

I take it you plan on adding a 2nd card in the future ? As 850W is overkill otherwise.

This looks good to me ^^. That being said, i dont know the actual power draw of a 980ti but just be sure your system can handle it. You may want to send me your motherboard for testing forever but that is up to you :P

All kidding aside, it looks fantastic and you should have all the parts you need. Next time for ease of the people helping you, use PCPartPicker so that you can post the <bb> code and it will be easy to see your system specs.

Looks good and happy building.

Have you considered X99 ? Skylake i7's are a bit overpriced at the moment due to the shortage. The price has come down slightly. They were £389.99 last week.

The 750D Airflow edition should give you better temps as it has a mesh front panel.

The H110i GT has a bigger 280mm Radiator and bigger Fans, so it should be better than the H100i GTX.

Corsair RMx > RM

My basket at Overclockers UK:
  •

Total: £1,698.52
(includes shipping: £14.70)
