Lubuntu not booting

Go to solution Solved by ManWithBeard1990,

Maybe the drivers aren't quite compatible with the latest kernel yet. Most linux distributions use Linux 3.x whereas Ubuntu has made the switch to 4.2 already. Chances are this has something to do with that.

AMD's proprietary drivers for example have a similar problem at the moment.

If all you really want is a working laptop and don't really mind a somewhat older OS maybe it's not a bad plan to try an LTS release like 14.04, and see if the problem persists.

So I installed Lubuntu(15.10 32bit) on an old laptop(DELL Inspiron Mini 1012), worked fine, no Wi-Fi. I installed the Wi-Fi drivers(according to this guide), worked fine. When I rebooted the laptop to finish the installation, it showed this:

I clicked on Ubuntu, it showed this and got stuck on it:

I tried reinstalling Lubuntu, still the same problem, even when erasing the disk.

Did you try going into the advance options and booting to a past state?

There is only Ubuntu, with Linux 4.2.0-16-generic and Linux 4.2.0-16-generic (recovery mode).

Tried updating stuff on recovery mode, but no past state option or anything similar.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

I'll try it. Thank you.
