psu setup properly Help?
ace A-700BR
some brand i've never heard of and probably gonna return for something like what you mentioned/what you mentioned
but are you sure 430w is enough? right now i have a 700w psu
A 400w would be plenty. The problem here isn't about wattage. It's about quality. Can a particular unit deliver it's rated wattage safely without going out of ATX specification? Well, yours on a modern day system where the majority of the power draw is comes from the +12v cannot. There's two +12v rail on that Ace PSU, where they are both rated at 20A. Combined that's 40A or 480w on the +12v. Here's another thing. The rails are not additive either and is typically is rated lower. That's why I say it's not even a 500w power supply.
Even knowing that the two +12v rail is rated at 20A each, I can't accurately guess the actual rating of the +12v either. Since Ace decided to rate this unit as a 700w and keep the actual combined rating of the +12v rail hidden (which can imply that they have something to hide), I can assume that this unit is complete and utter trash.
Can it power a 7850 and a i5? Probably, yes. Because your system have a very modest power draw that the only time you might hit over 200w is during Synthetic loads of Furmark and Prime95, which is not an representation of real world power draw which will be under 200w DC. Regardless of whether or not it is able to power it or not, I would recommend getting a proper unit for your system. If you are looking for a cheap and inexpensive power supply, the CX430 Bronze is a decent budget oriented power supply.
Edit: the XFX Core Edition 450w cost a little more than the CX430v3 but better build. I would recommend that: http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Edition-Bronze-Wired-Supply/dp/B005FPT38U/
