Neither, get the new skylake G4500! You can upgrade easily down the road.

Did you not read the first post? The Pentiums don't have 4 cores or hyper-threading to make up for it.

Well nether does the G3258. If not just get a FM3 socket CPU, because there is more support since its a newer socket vs FM2.

My suggestion is a FX 3600, if you wish to overclock get a 212 Evo.

I'd say go for the 6300 build I put together, the i3 is going to become too weak for gaming sooner than the 6300, if you can afford that build then get it :)

I'm pretty certain that he'll back me up on this ^^

One more thing, I highly recommend you throw in additional 20$ to get this motherboard:

personally i suggest the G3285. it only has 2 cores, and no hyper-threading, BUT it puts you on an 1150 socket, so you can upgrade later on to 4690k when you've got the money.  not to mention you can get the G3258 for like $30 when it goes on sales. yes you lose performance now, but its better to have the upgrade option in the future, instead of being locked to FM2+

Once again, look at the first post. If I get the Pentium, one person has told me that Star Citizen doesn't take too kindly to dual-cores, especially the ones without Hyper-Threading

i know, you're gonna have a bitch of a time playing Star Citizen.  and if you dont plan to ever upgrade your computer, then yea the 860k is probably the way to go.  but if you want to upgrade later on, i still support the pentium.

Star Citizen, GTA V, Witcher 3 (to some extent), FO4 - quite a few games hate dual cores

The budget is 550 USD, I NEED the wifi adapter

yes, that isnt really hard.

This board is EPIC. it is GREAT for overclocking FM2+ CPUs, it has really good wifi (one of the better m.2 intel cards)

That is THE BEST FX 6300 setup you can get on a budget.

unfortunatly, the highest OC you can get out of that setup is around 4.2GHz
