Fake audio driver

So I'm trying to do something on my server and it needs a sound device to work. Of course the server doesn't have a sound card, and Virtual Audio cable won't work. Do you guys know of any software to make a "fake" sound card? Or do I just need to spend 15 bucks on a crappy sound card?
