Hello,

I used to travel a lot for work, and in the recent years I always used laptop.

But with the new year I'll be more stable or in the same continent at least so I though that I could buy/build a new desktop.

Old Laptop Spec:

Processor
4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB)
Operating System
Windows 8.1 64
Graphics
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 755M 2GB
Memory
8GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
Hard Disk Drive

1TB 5400 RPM

My usual workflow consist of having more than one taxing program(Ps,Maya,Unreal, etc) open at time in order to have a quicker visualization of the final product.

Usual bottleneck are hard disk (5400 rpm suck) and cpu when processing lighting bake or render especially after a long day the cpu thermal throttle is always present.

I rarely Render or video edit  so a Nvidia Quadro is not on my radar, I had one a while ago but if I remember right for game development is straight better a consumer one.

Budget from 1000 to 2500 Dollar, this pc will be probably be done in 1-2 year maximum so I don't want to go all in with crazy build, but I don't want nickle and dine ether.

In the next few day I'll come out with a basic build but if you can suggest me a recent one that we can start to tweak it will be awesome!

Thanks in advance to all the people that will help me.

@Shimejii thanks for the build! it look's awesome.

and no I don't need monitor keyboard etc.. thanks I've already a color corrected one that I used to use with the laptop.

I start to cross check my main software if they are implementing some new hardware technology that is proprietary to one manufacturer and after probably some tweak I can be good to go
