Getting one soon hopefully next month or in January. Plus side this site is based in the US so shipping costs are going to be lower.

This one is based in Hong Kong:

Both are legit companies given the people who have bought them.

One thing what you really should do is make a printer enclosure out of acrylic with a fan (not a crappy computer fan, something that runs on AC and actually can get decent airflow) and a carbon activated filter. its takes like $25 to do and is crucial when printing ABS because of smell and potential health hazards especially with cheap filament. Not as much of a problem with PLA, but still nice to have if you have the printer indoors.

Also, the Prusa i3 is known for its openness and modding capability. One of the first mods that I will be doing is to add autoleveling as well as maybe changing to a bowden extruder (maybe depending on the print quality). In addition, since I am chill with the teacher at my school, I'll be asking him to reprint the plastic parts on the school's 10K printer for added durability and precision since the ones that come with it seem pretty shoddy from the pictures.

Alternatively, there is the Kossel which is a delta printer for cheap (can get it at folger tech too) and seems pretty amazing. Pro: easier to assemble than a Cartesian printer, has a nice build volume, looks cool.

Con: extremely harder to calibrate than cartesian printer initially ( which is why I do not recommend it as a first time thing)
