Yeah, 4GHz isn't a massive OC and so long as it wasn't super over volted and was cooled well you should be all set.

If it was well maintained I don't see a problem there

Go for it, my 3770K was run OC'd on air cooling for two years, only switched it over to liquid cooling in the past year and it's still holding up perfectly fine.
