I would agree with this except you only really need something like a 212 evo for a cpu cooler

More fins and heatpipes = Cooler + The fact that the R1 ultimate is a dual tower. If we all followed that logic the only air cooler on the market would be a 212 EVO or something similar

If you saved money on your case, cooler and PSU you could probably afford a 980.

A 212 evo isn't enough for something like a 4790k, 5960x, 6700k, etc...

That was the point I was trying to prove. If op wants a large heatsink, he can have a large heatsink.

I have a 4690k in a secondary rig on a 212 evo which it cools easily to around 70-75 at 4.5GHz.

 

Again you could get a GTX 980 in that budget easily.
