"Upgrade" from HD558

Hello, I've been considering getting new headphones/headset. I mean, they sound alright but for BF4 the bass just isn't enough. Dont get me wrong, bass is not everything i care about, but the boomy explosions are so flat and tinny with these cans. Dont say NAAAH EQ THEM OR GET A DAC/SOUNDCARD U LIL FAG! These.cans.are.not.bass.heavy.

I tried switching headphones from HD558 and Sony MDR 1A just to get a comparision and damn, once I switched back to the HD558's the game sound was just so dead, it was like sitting in a closed can and hear sounds from the outside, everything was muddy and naaah. That moment really made me think "Fuck this, im not gonna deal with those any more"!

I know I compared a closed heaphone to a open one but still. What i like with open headphones is that i can hear myself talking (seperate mic) and if my parents are walking down the stairs i can hear them and get the warning "STOP FAPIN AND PULL UP YOUR PANTS!".

Maan i dont really know what to look into, headphones or headsets? I miss my turtle beach p11's a lil bit to be honest xC! Anyways, I do not wanna spend more than what the hd558 costs.

Read my first post/thread start thingy

Okay... with Amazon's current price on the 558 as a point of reference (I've seen the price of this headphone for much higher on other places, but oh well), I say go for the Philips SHP9500. Honestly, Philips has done so little in terms of doing shit wrong on headphones recently. Hard to fault Philips right now and they can pretty much contend against Sennheiser.

-Edit-

But if you want closed-back. Go for the Takstar Pro 80.

For the MDR1A's price range you could look into the Philips fidelio x2. Great sound, great bass, easy to drive, very comfortable, and they're open back. I tested out the MDR1A and the x2 together and liked the x2s far better. I also found the MDR1As uncomfortable. The ear cups are very small and shallow for my apparently big ears.

Thrive on change. Embrace volatility.

For the $100 price range, I'd say grab the NVX XPT100 if closed or the Philips SHP9500 that was mentioned for open.

The HD558's really are a joke compared to the MDR1A's.. I know Im comparing a closed headphone to a open headphone but still dude.. The HD558 are just a complete muddy saiofnaonifa! They may sound better with some extra power from a DAC or some sort of soundcard, I do not know.

Its funny how i pay'd xx sniper xx more for the HD558's, why did I even buy them :'(
