What is the best way to check if MSI AB is using my 2D profile for general things and 3D for gaming? Gaming is easy since I can use RIVA Tuner to check that it is using the OC setting (core clock and memory clock), but 2D not sure how to check.

If your MSI has a silent operation mode then its ok most the time in 2D games because it may not even start a fans. But i recommended doing an 2D profile and all stock clocks and voltages to reduce the heat output and power consumption and when about to 3D games then you should be good to go with your OC or normal stock settings with boost

Yea I think you misunderstood my post. I have exactly that. My 2D profile is the stock settings and my 3D profile is OC'd. I just want to be able to make sure that MSI is indeed switching between the two.
