PC slowdown and BSOD

Go to solution Solved by lostlegopiece,

Hopefully the final UPDATE.

Took out the GPU, blew the dust and behold the issue is gone, basta, solved.

Hello folk,

I am at complete loss, for unknown reasons my PC began to run really choppy. First I noticed the issue few days ago by listening music via soundcloud and playing games. At first it was tolerable but today after turning my PC on it was unbearable. So I did some digging, thinking that it might be related to audio driver or device I did all the appropriate steps(disabled the device, reinstalled drivers) to try and fix the issue. Nothing worked.

As I write now its even worse. Games run choppy, music, movies run in slowmo and doing daily tasks takes way more time to load.

PC specs:
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 10240)
Mobo: Gigabyte UD3H-Z77X
CPU: i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~4.0GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
GPU: 7950
Vertex 4 (128GB) for OS and prime programs
WD black 2TB for mass storage
FD R4 case with noctua fans all round and NH-D14 cooling the cpu.

My temps are fine, CPU cores at around 30C(~80F), GPU at 36C

Plenty off free space on all storage devices and partitions.
Dxdiag shows nothing wrong.
CCleaner is ran daily,
Malwarebytes finds nothing wrong as well
All drivers are up to date.

At the moment I am thinking to reinstall windows (downloading as I write).

UPDATE1: Did a fresh windows 10 install, problem did not go away.

UPDATE2: Ran memtest overnight. 9 passed, 0 errors

UPDATE3: Now I am getting BSOD (will post here, didnt have the time to write the codes down)

UPDATE4:Took out the GPU, blew the dust and behold the issue is gone.

I don't have the means to take a picture but I will make sure to describe what I see the next time it happens, all I can say for now its a regular win10 BSoD along the line of "Your PC ran into problems and needs to restart..."

If you get an error code like (atikmdag.sys) then it's your GPU. Try to reinstall your GPU driver by deleting the old one and installing the new one.

It could be that your cpu is throttling for the galmes , but i susppect something else , like a gpu problem.

whatever you have hooked to the net like skype/instat messaging/windows updates/app auto updates, etc., shut down.

whatever you are using for souns kill it. use onboard sound and speakers.

disable all other audio drivers.

I take it windows is up to date and all netframework is installed? (windows updates).

kill all your gaming apps ( origin/ea's shit/whatever except for what you need to run 1 game or several games that may be connected using the same app.
