motherboard+cpu upgrade

Go to solution Solved by AdamKovacs,

Here  you have a cheap but good CPU+Motherboard: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WLrpmG

Maybe I'll go with that, cuz I'm a bit on the low side of the budget.

Thanks for the answers! :D

Hi! Recently I upgraded my old gpu to a Asus R9 270X Top 2GB, and I'm planning to upgrade my cpu aswell. Since I have a FM1 socket motherboard, I'll need to upgrade it for sure.

What I have now:

Motherboard: Asrock A55 Pro3

CPU: AMD A8-3850 2.9GHz FM1

GPU: Asus R9 270X Top 2GB

RAM: 4x2GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz

PSU: FSP Hexa 500W

I was thinking about some kind of i5, and since I have 4 sticks of ram, I'll need a mobo with 4 sockets for them.

Does Skylake cpus worth the more money instead of the regular, about the same specs ones?

No, it isn't worth it. If you're planning to buy an i5 (4th gen) and want to overclock it too? Then you should consider buying the i5 4690K. If you don't want to overclock then buy the same CPU without the (K) at the end. For the motherboard you should buy a H97 chipset for non-overclocking or a Z97 chipset for overclocking.

just grab some H97 mobo with an i5-4460 for great performance.

or if you want "Decent" performance go with an i3-4160
