Soundproofing Your Room?

So I have a massive problem. I love gaming at night but most of my sound leaks through my walls to my parents room even when I am whispering sometimes. I have looked at foams with triangle ramps and some insulation foam that I have seen Youtubers use on their walls and doors but I am not convinced it will fix my problem. All in all, I am not looking to completely soundproof my room since either that is impossible in my situation or it may require knocking down walls, however if I can reduce most sound leakage from my room that would be fantastic. 

 

My Room: Currently, my room has 1 door with some insulation at the bottom and top to seal out sound but it does not help very much, other then a few posters and a visa mount my walls a fairly bare. My overall room is almost filled and its not too large with maybe 8-14 feet of walking space so there is no echo. I am thinking that my house and more specifically my room does not have very insulated walls so that is the main reason sound leaks out but if there are any other suggestions to why I am having problems of this caliber please let me know.

Triangle foam won't help. Not what it's for.

 

There are solutions that will work without tearing down the walls, but most involve putting more sheetrock over the existing walls, with mass loaded vinyl and Furring strips or something similar in between.

Honestly its almost not worth it. Triangles wont help, that will probably make it worse. Problem with walls is they are solid and solid object carry sound better then air. Best way to stop from waking or bothering them.... game in a different room

A simple way would be to install heavy curtains along the wall with a small air gap behind it to help dampen the noise, but as you said if you wanted to properly soundproof the room taking down one side of the drywall and adding soundproof insulation at the least or even going as far as sound proof drywall would be your best bet but more costly and work intensive.

before you buy any expensive sound proofing equipment maybe see if you can talk quieter since I really doubt anybody can hear a whisper through a few layers of dry wall, regardless of insulation or how big of a light sleeper they are
