New PC + monitor

Valters

Good day!

I built a computer. The configuration is Intel Core I5-4590/ 8Gb RAM Kingston Fury/ 120Gb SSD Kingston HiperX / 1.5TB HDD Seagate / MB B85 GigaByte/ Case InWin 380W/ ODD/ GTX960 OC 4Gb GigaByte

And I have a kinda old monitor Samsung model: 223BW.

When I start up my pc the monitor screen is just black. When I add the monitor to my laptop it works grate.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Try without the graphics card and just run from the onboard graphics. Some lower end motherboards sometimes have trouble switching between iGPU and PCIe.

Shouldn't be a problem, worst case scenario would be to just use a VGA cable with a DVi adapter.

Do you have a TV with HDMI available? Worth a quick check if you can.

Could it be that the videocard connectors are Dual Link DVI-I, HDMI 2.0, 3x DisplayPort 1.2

and the monitors http://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-syncmaster-223bw/specs/

Maybe they are not compatable?

You should be able to connect the DVI port up no issue. DVI is backward compatible to my knowledge. Do you not see anything? Including the post process or nothing?
