Hello Fellow Tech Lovers, lost lambs and pro builders.

So it think its time to make a new baby, seeing as my old one is not keeping up with todays entertainment very well.

So i spent the last 4-5 month checking out what my favorit store has to offer and whatever info on parts i could find on the web, sadly it didnt go to well so here i am!

Opinions are welcome and my budget is around 5-6k~ USD but yeah im hoping it to hold atlest 5 years WITH the option of upgrading if there is a need to do so.

Oh and im in no rush really i can always wait another 4-6 months but then i´d need some good motivation on why i should wait.

Case:

Dunno...i did like the TT Level 10 GT Snow Edition. I Welcome good cable managment, alot of front USB 3.0, and those Removeable dust filter things for easier cleaning.

Oh and good air flow.

PSU:

Because i whant to be future proof i think ill go for a 1200W unit with modular cables :) might need the extra juice incase i go SLI/Crossfire

Motherboard:

Not sure really, the Asus Rampage IV Extreme was my first choice but i kinda like the Maximus V Extreme aswell, sadly that one have less ram slots and might be less future proof(?),

Suggestions are welcome. but id like to stick with Asus on the motherboards.

Or something Next Gen.

CPU:

Not sure yet because i need to choice a MOBO first but either a i7-3930K or i7-3770K

Or something Next Gen.

CPU Cooler:

Corsair H100i maybe.

Or something that will work with whatever MoBo/CPU ill end up with.

GPU:

Well this is the messy part, I alredy got a Asus GTX 690 BECUASE i read and thought that it was a good card for Triple Monitoring (For my current PC), BUT then after reading some new stuff it turns out im better of with 1-2x 4Gb Memory GTX 680 probebly the EVGA Classified...............so i kinda feel shit but owell. OH and i am going for a 3D surround experiance althou i have some issues right now....

then again it could be that my CPU is cripling my 690 So much it hurts.

Linus said something about a Tesla GPU Card? Maybe one of those? :D

Or...ill go ATI..but i cant use my monitors then with 3D then....ugh

GPU Cooler: Depends, might just stick with the stock fan/s.

RAM:

I did like the G.Skill Ripjaws Z 32GB PC17000/2133Mhz CL9 8x4GB

Buuuuut it whould only be usefull for the Asus R4E MoBo because it have 8 slots and M5E only has 4, but i read somewhere a while back that using only the .....black(?) slots give better performance(??) instead of filling every ram Slot on the Board.

Suggestions are welcome.

so i guess i only need 2 or 4 ram´s if there really is a performance thing going on. but id like to have atlest 16gb Ram, and some darn fast and fancy ones!!

RAM Cooler:

I might aswell get the Kingston HyperX Cooling Fan´s aswell....or two if i the RAM is seperated from each other like on the R4E and if they fit on the Rams

Storage:

2x WD VelociRaptor 1TB and 1xOCZ Vector SSD 256GB. should be enoth for awhile

Soundcard: I Might use my Asus Xonar DG 5.1 that im using now. (together with my Logitech z506 5.1 )

Or something better maybe.....

Displays:

I alredy got 3x Asus VG278 120hz 3D monitors.

I got a few issues with them or the GTX690, not sure. Anyone know alot about either?

More info can be found here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...ngel-gtx-690-/

Long story short: Two of my monitors are VG278 and one is VG278HR, Acording to ASUS the HR one has Diffrent Components and due to that i cant Use 3D Surround with the other two, i CAN use Nvidia Surround wich is what im using now on my old PC with the GTX690 its just 3D wont work on all monitors, worst case the whole system will freeze up or just restart.......and really, my goal was to use 3D....otherwise id just go for that 144hz screen ( its cheaper lol)

Yes i AM using the DVI ports

Yes i AM using DVI Dual link Cables on all Displays

Worst case is that ill have to sell all 3 and buy 3x VG278HE (Hopefully no Component issues) 144hz monitors and a (HOPEFULLY ONLY 1) Nvidia 3D 2 Kit.

Accessories:

NZXT Sentry 2 LCD Fan controller

Keyboard: Gigabyte Aivia Osmium (i had a Corasir k90 but it died on me only after a 5 months.....and i was only gaming..."sadface")

Mouse: Not sure yet, i like my R.A.T 7 Contagion but i need something with abit more Hight to it, Maybe the Ouroboros or Gigabyte Aivia Krypton to go with the keyboard, im not sure i need to check them out and try them first.

Suggestions are welcome and...No i wont buy a Mamba or naga....just saying.

......

Did i forget something? Wireless Headset? My Logitech G930 are nice but they are broken around the earcuffs, so maybe ill go with the Corsair Vengance 2000 because its made of less plastic and more Metal, maybe it will last longer, Problem is i got Cats so there will be Car furr in the cuffs because they are of cloth instead of Leather.

Nothing is 100% yet becuase new stuff will be coming....owell

So what do you guys think?

I was thinking of Watercooling my PC but.....i never done it befor so iduno...

My Main use is Gaming and listning to music and to do some random benchmarking for no reason...i know, very basic stuff there but i love tech and tinkering so i might do some CAD and 3D stuff and Music in the future.

As for my old PC, i might just turn it into a Guest PC and/or a server. not sure yet. i got some spare parts and accessories in my storage.

My advice would be as follows though keeping in mind I'm not saying go and get ..., more just ideas.

CPU: For what you're doing, you don't really need a high performance hex core CPU - yes, you said you might do 3D rendering or something in the future however it isn't like "I do 3D" "Get an X79" - the 3770K is more than capable of what you need it to do.

Board: My preference is for the P8Z77-V series from Asus however ASRock Extremes and some of MSI's stuff, especially their M-Power are also very good products.

GPU: I'd start off with your existing card and then see what happens. If you do find it isn't perfroming well enough, you could upgrade when the 700 series from NVidia are released which I believe will be later this year, possibly Q3.

PSU: You won't need a 1200w PSU and any excuse for further expansion is bogus. Components are using less and less power with each generation. I'd look at a 750w PSU such as the Corsair AXi or Seasonic X.

RAM: Gaming? 16GB of C9 1600Mhz - you won't need over 6GB for games and I've said 16 just for the hell of it. You'd be fine with 8. Perhaps Corsair Vengeance?

Case: Cases are completely up to the buyer - not everyone likes the same aesthetics or has the same list of needs when it comes to choosing a case.

And lastly, just because you have $6000 to spend - doesn't mean you have to spend it.

To complement windspeed's post, I have a few things to say.

CPU: The 3770K should be sufficient. This is an 1155 socket CPU.

CPU Cooler: Perhaps look at the H110 or H220 when they come out. If you want it now, the H100i is sufficient for your needs.

Board: Must correspond with the CPU. If you like the 3770K and the Rampage IV Extreme, you cannot choose both. One is for LGA 2011, the other is for LGA 1155. I would say go with the 3770K and the Maximus V Formula. The formula has good inbuilt sound.

GPU: Stick with your GTX 690 for now and if you need to upgrade, I'd recommend a second 690. Dual GTX 690s are baller. Otherwise if you really need to change, either wait for the GTX 700 series or see if you can trade in your GTX 690 plus some cash for two GTX 670 4GBs.

PSU: As Windspeed said, 1200W is not necessary unless you're looking at quad-SLI or quad-fire. For dual cards, 750W is sufficient. For a single 690, 700W is still more than enough (unless you plan on upgrading to dual cards later).

RAM: If you REALLY want 16GB of RAM, go with four sticks of DDR3-1600 Corsair Vengeance. The only reason to go with this much RAM anyway (for gaming) is to fill up all your RAM slots so that it looks good. Unless you're running VM's, I wouldn't worry about 32GB of RAM.

Case: If you like the TT Level 10, get that -- there is no reason why you would be disappointed. It comes down to personal preference with this kind of price tag.

You can also look at an additional sound card, such as a Xonar Essence STX. EDIT: Didn't notice you already had one :)

TLDR:

CPU: Intel i7-3770K

CPU Cooler: Either wait for H110 or H220, or get the H100i now.

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus V Formula

GPU: Single GTX 690, possible upgrade to dual GTX 690 or trade-in for dual GTX 670s or 680s. Alternatively wait for GTX 700 series or HD 8000 series.

PSU: 750W is sufficient for two cards or two GPUs, 80 Plus Gold or Platinum is preferred.

RAM: 16GB of Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz is enough.

Case: The TT Level 10 is great.

The rig would be awesome with above listed components and would smash every game to date while looking baller and being winning.

Ooooh alright i se what you guys are saying, oh and Dim i do use VM´s , i guess i should hade said that aswell "faceplam"

I´ll wait a few weeks more and se if anyone ells have some advice then ill try combining them, like i said im not in a rush really.

Ok so a 1200W PSU is not needed but i do whant it to be Modular and i do like Corsair but the only ones i se are "Be Quiet" or "Fractar" brands, how are those? i never used either brand befor on anything.
