Help needed ASAP

Go to solution Solved by Lord_Karango17,

Do a fresh install of the newest driver, and see if that helps.

Also have tools like gpuz in the background while playing the games to see what the clock speeds are, because when my display driver crashes, it gets stuck at 540 mhz, instead of going to the max 1250 mhz.

While overclocking my gtx 970, it dropped performance (in heaven it went from over 60 to under 30) i tried restarting the pc and claering the oc but it didnt work, please help

did you change the MV when OCing?

Want a good game to play?  Check out Shadowrun: http://store.steampowered.com/app/300550/ (runs on literally any hardware)

another 12 core / 24 thread senpai...     (/. _ .)/     \(. _ .\)

Nothing you can do in msi afterburner with a stock bios will harm the card... The whopping 12Mv nvidia lets you play with will do little if anything to the life of the card.

Thank you so much! The fresh install worked, do you have any tips on overclocking my gtx 970 so it doesnt happen again?

Did it crash when you were overclocking?

I dont see any other reason as to why the clocks would be lower otherwise.

what core/ memory clocks were you running at?

Go in little steps, and change one slider at a time, so you know what is causing instability, and when you reach the limit of the card.

Most people seem to be able to reach 1400mhz on the core, so that should be a safe place to start, and work your way up with 20 mhz increments.

When it crashes/ becomes unstable, back off by one 20 mhz step, and see if  its stable in games as well as synthetics like heaven/ 3dmark
