From HDD to SSD

Go to solution Solved by Smooth Bunz,

Clone the hdd and format it but make sure the clone worked first. You can always add another hdd down the road if you want to

Hi guys i ordered a new Samsung 850 EVO, 500 GB SSD because i wanted something faster than my HDD WD Blue WD10EZEX.

The thing is I have everything on my HDD now, and i want some advise on this.

Should i just clone the HDD to the SSD, and wipe the HDD for use of mass storage or keep the HDD, new OS on the SSD and later on buy a new HDD like a 3TB one?

Please tell me would you would do in your opinion.

When you get your SSD up and going, make sure your enable TRIM, and set your page file and Default download locations to your HDD, it will keep the SSD healthy and make it last much longer :)

Alright thank you very much for your help  :)

Cloning won't work. They are different sized drives.

In my experience, you have to fresh install.

(I use CloneZilla so don't quote me on that if you use different software and it automatically adjusts / lets you change it then it might work).
