New PSU or SSD

Go to solution Solved by JebKerman,

What 850watts power supply would you recommend around 200 AUD budget range.

there's also the one i mentioned earlier at $180: http://www.pccasegea...33122&cPath=535

it's a Seasonic under the XFX branding. so it's a good reliable unit.

Should i get a new PSU (XFX1000/Coolermaster 1000/RMX1000) which is around 250 AUD or should i get a new SSD (Samsung Evo 500gb) My current PSU is cougar V3 700 watts, i been using this PSU for around 7 month now. Im asking this question because im going to skylake (i7) in a few week. I already have SSD (OCZ 240gb) as OS. It seem the price of PSU is stable so should i get PSU now and get larger SSD down the track. (Current Build in signature).

Thanks

850W is plenty for 2 graphics cards and is MUCH cheaper:

The SSD can probably wait.

Cougar is one of the worst brands out there. I think you'll be OK for the time being but I would highly suggest getting something different. If you want to get two 390Xs for example, 850W is a good number for that. XFX/Cooler Master V/RMx are all good options as you mentioned as are EVGA's GS/G2/B2/GQ.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

One 980ti will be fine on 500W, two on 850W.

TBH I don't know the conversion rates but I believe you can find Antec High Current Gamer and Pro series of 820W ish and that should work.
