So a while back I got the CPU fan error on boot. The fan inbetween the 2 towers on my dark rock 3 is broken. And I'm too lazy to remove my GPU to take it away. (No real reason to replace atm since it's winter here temps never go above 65, even with 1 fan)

So I thought just disconnecting the fan would get rid of the CPU fan error... Nope. It still shows the CPU fan error, while the broken one is disconnected and the other one is plugged in to the CPU fan header.

Help?

Chances are the fan is running slower than the bios' 'minimum' speed. You should have an option in your bios to set the lowest 'normal' speed for the fan to about 200 or 300 rpm. This fixed it  for me on my Noctua NH-D15 in the past.
