Surveillance Server OS?

Go to solution Solved by LeapFrogMasterRace,

Are there other ones on the market that offer it for free or something? I wonder if this is even the right place to look

xeoma is the only other one I can think of

Just wondering, do surveillance servers need their own operating systems? Is it just a program that's being run on a server? What kind of software is available for monitoring and watch? I just need one camera for my room to see who comes in and or out or whatever.

Most people use programs that are compatible with both server operating systems and more standard ones such as windows 7/xp. An example of such program is Onssi.

ispy would be better for your use sense it is open source linux based ones would also be a good option.

Only if you're willing to shell out.

It is free. Just takes a little bit of patience and effort to set up, is all.

I mean something with GUI base like features or something... That just looks like a bunch of lazy command line stuff. I'm sure there's something out there.
